MARLENE JONES= DEAN

July 16, 1956 – September 24, 2019

Marlene Joyce Jones (nee Bewick), beloved partner of Kelly Murney, passed away September 24, 2019 after a 9 year battle with lung cancer. Born July 16, 1956, Marlene grew up in the Eagle Hill District, and enjoyed a long career as a special education teacher with the Calgary Board of Education. After retirement, she and Kelly relocated to Lethbridge, and spent their winters in Bullhead City/Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Marlene loved gardening, Jeopardy and motorcycle riding. She and Kelly spent many happy hours on the motorbike.

Marlene was predeceased by her parents Wilf and Esther, and her late husband Colin Jones. She is survived by her partner Kelly Murney, and her brother Bob (Karen and niece Pam) and her stepchildren Trevor and Shannon.

A Celebration of Marlene's Life will be held Sunday, August 2, 2020 at 1:00pm at Eagle Hill Community Center, Eagle Hill, Alberta. Please observe all Covid-related guidelines for attending public gatherings. Donations in Marlene's memory may be made to any charity benefiting children with special needs.
