June 22, 1948, Westlock AB - July 5, 2021, Olds AB

It is with a sense of profound loss we announce that Harold Hadley, beloved husband of Jill Hadley (Deacon) and amazing father to John and Katrina, peacefully died with his family by his side at 2:54pm, Monday July 5, 2021 at the age of 73 in Olds, AB.

He was predeceased by his parents Doug and Olga Hadley and his brother Bert Hadley. He will be lovingly remembered by his remaining siblings Richard, Reg, Jean, Joyce, Edna and Tom , as well as by Linda (Bert) Hadley and all of their families. He is also deeply cherished by Jill’s family: John and Barb Deacon and family, and Allan and Jennefer Fraser. Those of us closest to him will hold his memory dear and will remember and honour him in our own way with friends, including through the Olds & District Hospice Society’s butterfly release.

There will be no formal service. Our Harold shone light into the world with his mischievous sense of humour and enjoyment of life. His uplifting and steady nature brought comfort and happiness to many people. He loved children, nature and animals and expressed his love in kind ways. In his work life he was a corrosion technologist and enjoyed mentoring young people in the field. Over the years he volunteered with many organizations, including Scouts Canada and the Mountain View Food Bank.

Goodbye to our sweet, brave man who lived with thyroid cancer for over 16 years. Our family would like to thank his physician Dr. Nel, Olds & District Hospice Society, and the staff at Seasons Encore Olds for their compassionate care. If desired, memorial donations can be made to Olds & District Hospice Society. Messages of condolence and stories about Harold may be left for the family at www.heartlandfuneralservices.com. Heartland Funeral Services Ltd., Olds entrusted with arrangements. 403-507-8610
