Gloria Gwendolyn Gorrill passed away peacefully at Olds, Alberta on May 31, 2020 at the age of 97 years and nearly 11 months of age. Gloria lived a long, full and happy life; she was ready to meet her Lord and Savior very early on that appointed Sunday morning. She was the last surviving sibling from a large blended family numbering 13 children: four full brothers and one sister, six step-brothers, and one half-sister.

 Gloria was born on July 5, 1922 at Aneroid, Saskatchewan to George and Nellie Foss. The family decided to move to the Creston valley area in B.C, in 1936, however they kept the two farms near Aneroid and Ponteix.

Gloria began taking piano lessons at the age of 7 years. She continued with her music throughout her school days. After graduating from high school at Creston, she took the Toronto Conservatory Music Exams obtaining her Piano Teacher's Diploma in 1944. Gloria taught piano lessons to many community people, as well, to all her children and grandchildren for forty years. Over the years, she had been asked to play at many events including: weddings, anniversaries, funerals, and special community events. As an Alberta Women's Institute member, Gloria played at many events and conventions, locally and provincially. At Eagle Hill Church Gloria was one of the church pianists for over 50 years.

Gloria and Alvin Gorrill were married on June 29, 1944 at Creston, B.C. They settled on the farm at Eagle Hill, Alberta in 1956. As a couple they had 7 children. Over the years they were blessed with many descendants.After 57 years of living at Eagle Hill, Alvin and Gloria moved to Mount View Lodge in Olds on January 1, 2014.

Gloria is survived by her sister-in-laws: Betty, Lily and Edna Foss. Surviving children: Carol Brown, Linda (Brian) O'Connell, Susan Gorrill, Elaine (Ian) Kaiser, Alan (Judy) Gorrill; 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren: as well as, numerous nieces and nephews. Gloria was predeceased by her husband, Alvin in 2017, an infant son, Wayne in 1958 and son, David in 2014.

A Graveside Service was held on June 5, 2020 at the Eagle Hill Cemetery where the immediate family gathered. A Memorial Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Memorial tributes may be made to the charity of choice. Arrangements entrusted to Heartland Funeral Services.
