1947-2021

Allan George Gooding was an elite fighter pilot in his younger years and would never let anyone forget it. He despised ketchup and mushrooms, was an advocate for veterans in need, and told the worst dad jokes ever. Allan was an accomplished businessman, was loved and respected, and passed away on September 16, 2021, at the age of 74 years.

Allan is survived by his son, Deryk Allan Gooding (Rebecca), his granddaughter, Tara and his grandson David. He is survived by his daughter Crystal Lynne Gooding (Brandon). As well as his partner Constance Maitland.

Allan was predeceased by his mother, Hazel Evelyn Gooding (nee Halstead), his father Roland George Gooding and his much-loved older brother, Thomas Elgie Gooding. Allan leaves behind his niece, Sharon Gooding-Mallette and two nephews, Scott  and Brian Gooding. His uncle Ken aged 99 and his two cousins, Bruce, and David Gooding.

Allan’s celebration of life has taken place at the Baker Funeral Chapel in Wetaskiwin , Alberta. In lieu of flowers (which Allan absolutely refused to spend money on), he asked that you contribute to Valour Place, a temporary home away from home for all Canadian Forces members, RCMP, Families of the Fallen, Veterans and First Responders, along with their families who require medical treatment in Edmonton. Donations can be made by visiting www.valourplace.ca/donate-info. Or, if donating isn’t your cup of tea, Allan requests that you carry out an unexpected and unsolicited act of kindness in his name. The service will be live streamed and can be viewed on our website on his obituary.
