Loretta Lillian Church was born on September 19, 1947 to Jack and Margaret Church in Olds Alberta. Loretta was the eldest of 4 girls raised on a busy farm just north west of Olds in the Samis/Hainstock community.

Loretta is predeceased by both her parents Jack and Margaret, a sister, Debbie, and a beloved son Bart. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Dan Blain, daughter Dallas and Denny Mclean, Grandsons, Brandt, Bryce, Dawson, Dylan Mclean, Granddaughter Brooklyn Mclean, Sister Lourelle and Dale Vooys, Sister Sheila and Ken McDermid, and numerous nieces and nephews and close friends.

Loretta Graduated from Olds High School in 1965 and began her education as a registered Nurse at the Calgary General Hospital, She graduated from nursing school in 1967. On November 2, 1968, Loretta was married to Daniel B. Blain of Eagle Hill, In Olds Alberta. In 1970 Loretta began her career as an R.N at the newly built Sundre General Hospital. She worked at the Sundre Hospital until 1993. Loretta was a mother to 2 children, Bartley Neil, Born August 27,1970- deceased June 11, 1992, and Dallas Ann, Born April 23,1974.

After Loretta retired from her nursing career, she attended night classes to become a travel agent in the mid 1990’s. Loretta loved to travel the world and some of her favorite places often visited were Vancouver Island, Hawaii, Mexico, Alaska, Cuba, and cruising the Caribbean and Panama Canal. Loretta was an active farm wife and helped with the Family mixed farm and purebred Simmental Cattle business. She was also involved in many activities with her kids organizations such as 4-H and Hockey/Ringette. Loretta was a proud and active member of the Garrington Church which brought her much pleasure over the years.

Some of the happiest times of Loretta’s life were spent with her 5 grandchildren that were born 1998- Brandt, 2000- Bryce, 2001- Dawson, 2004- Dylan, and 2007- Brooklyn. After a long and much too difficult battle with many medical conditions, Loretta entered into rest peacefully in her home on March 16,2020 at the age of 72 years.
