Hundreds run in cross-country divisional meet

Nine schools field hundreds of runners from junior to high school

MOUNTAIN VIEW COUNTY — Nine schools fielded just shy of 200 runners last week for the Chinook’s Edge South Athletic Association cross-country divisional meet hosted in Sundre.

Organizers and athletes could not have hoped for much more favourable early fall weather conditions on Tuesday, Sept. 28 as the sky was largely clear with an occasional breeze to help keep things cool.

About 185 runners came from: Westglen School, Didsbury; Deer Meadow School, Olds; River Valley School, Sundre; Sundre High School; École Olds High School; Didsbury High School; Cremona School; Hugh Sutherland School, Carstairs; and Olds Koinonia Christian School.

First-place winners were as follows:

Bantam girls (junior high)
