Former Mountain View County councillor Ken Heck, who also worked in the oilpatch and farmed, served one term on Mountain View County council from 2013-17. Heck died on June 2 in Sundre, and his funeral is scheduled to take place tomorrow.

MOUNTAIN VIEW COUNTY — Former county councillor Ken Heck has died at age 75.

Heck was elected to county council in Division 6 in 2013, serving one term until 2017.

County council held during the June 8 council meeting a moment of silence in Heck’s memory.

Heck was born on April 22, 1947 in Provost, Alberta, and died on June 2 in Sundre.

Trained at the University of Alberta and the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, Heck worked in the oilpatch, including at the Harmattan Gas Plant east of Sundre. He was also a farmer.
