$8.4 million Bergen Road project a go

MOUNTAIN VIEW COUNTY – County council has instructed administration to enter into a contract with E Construction Ltd. for a road construction project on Bergen Road.

The move came by way of motion at a ecent regularly scheduled council meeting.

The accepted tender price for the project is $8.4 million, with an additional $428,078 for the related long patching program.

“The project will involve a total rebuild of the road, which includes removing the existing surface, rebasing and paving,” said project manager James Crozier.

Work will take place from Highway 22 to the Fallen Timber Trail, Rge. Rd. 53, for a total length of 10.5 kilometres.

“The project will also include gradeline changes to improve sightlines as well as widening of the existing road,” he said.
