Bantam Bulldogs beat Stettler

The Olds Bantam Bulldogs beat the Stettler Cougars 28-8 in Central Alberta Football League action on Saturday at Normie Kwong Park. Connor Jorgensen had two touchdowns, while Bryce Wachtler and Baylen Unger each had one major for the Bulldogs.

The defence played equally as well, holding the Cougars to several third downs and outs on several possessions, as well as sacking the Cougars' quarterback several times, including one by Kevin Waldron, who knocked the pivot out of the game.

The Bulldogs are first in the CFL, with a game on Saturday against the Lindsay Thurber Raiders in Red Deer.

Huskies blanked by Steelers

The Olds Peewee Huskies were defeated 32-0 by the Red Deer Steelers on Saturday in Central Peewee Football League action at Normie Kwong Park. According to Huskies' coach Neil Skaluba, the home side had a difficult time moving the ball against an aggressive Steeler defence.

While the Huskies' defence was better in the second half, allowing only one touchdown, the home side could not overcome the speed of the Steelers. The Huskies' next game is Saturday in Sylvan Lake against the Bears.
