OLDS — The Knights of Columbus (K of C) are once again holding their annual free throw championship.

All boys and girls ages nine to 14 are invited to participate in the competition, which will be held on Feb. 22 at Holy Trinity Catholic School in Olds. Registration begins at 10 a.m.

The top finishers from each level will qualify for the next round of competition, which will be held on Feb. 29 at École Camille J. Lerouge School in Red Deer.

“Historically the competition has been fierce  and many of our participants have won their age bracket’s regional and provincial championships,” local K of C spokesman Matthew Cadrin says.

International champions are announced by the Knights of Columbus international headquarters, based on scores from state- and provincial-level competitions.

Last year, more than 120,000 youth participated in more than 3,600 competitions.

Participants are required to furnish proof of age and written parental consent.

For entry forms or additional information, contact Cadrin at 403-896-9666.
