OLDS — Forty-two people attended a clinic in Olds Feb. 22-23 featuring Olympic curling strategist and coach Renee Sonnenberg.

Sonnenberg is a four-time Scotties Tournament of Hearts competitor and is part of the Curling Canada high performance staff.

She has served as Curling Canada’s national team coach as well as strategy and analytics expert during the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeong Chang, South Korea.

During the 2010 Winter Olympics, Sonnenberg coached the Danish national team.

The clinic also featured 2012 men’s junior world champion Evan Asmussen and Les Sonnenberg, an elite-level junior coach who has won several provincial championships.

Olds Curling Club secretary Jennifer Wood was among those who attended the clinic.

She noted it attracted a wide range of attendees, everyone from junior to senior curlers.

“The clinic was a great opportunity to address everything from delivery and weight management to strategy,” she wrote in an email.

“The addition of the coaches videoing and critiquing participants was also of great value
