The Olds Huskies peewee football team was blanked by the Innisfail Cyclones 24-0 on Saturday at Normie Kwong Park.

Despite giving it a good effort, the local club was unable to muster much against a tight Cyclones defence. Conversely, the visitors' offence was able to produce a lot of yards and sustain scoring drives.

“This team has (beaten) everybody by 20 points or more all year, so we were just trying to keep it close. They're a well-coached team and they you could tell that their fundamentals are really good. We held them to the least amount of points all year,” said Monte Christensen, Huskies' coach, following the game.

Christensen said while the effort was there from the Huskies, the team needs to improve its blocking in order to compete at a higher level.

“That's probably true for most football teams,” he said.
