Grizzly forward named Player of the Week

OLDS — Olds Grizzlys forward Noah Hackett has been named the Pizza 73 Alberta Junior Hockey League’s (AJHL) Player of the Week after picking up six points from Oct. 4-10.  

The 19-year-old third-year forward was named the Viterra AJHL Star of the Game in four matches played during that time for a total of six such awards.

As of last week, Hackett led the Grizzlys in scoring with 15 points (seven goals and eight assists) and was fifth in the AJHL scoring race.

The Ponoka resident earned his first Star of the Game award on Oct. 5 during a 7-0 loss to the Okotoks Oilers.  

The second award came on Oct. 8 after a 5-1 loss to the Whitecourt Wolverines. Hackett picked up an assist on the lone Grizzlys goal in that game.

On Oct. 9, Noah scored two goals and bagged two assists in a 7-5 road win over the Grande Prairie Storm.

Hackett added his sixth point of the week with an assist on Oct. 10 in a 3-1 loss to the Drayton Valley Thunder.
