A fifth suspected wanted in connection with the alleged kidnapping of a man in Didsbury three weeks ago has been arrested after turning herself in to police.

Tanya Dawn Hoomana, 39, surrendered herself on an outstanding warrant at the Didsbury RCMP detachment on Monday.

Shortly after 6 p.m. on Jan. 23, Didsbury RCMP were called to a complaint of a male that had been taken at gunpoint in the town of Didsbury, RCMP Cpl. Curtis Peters said in a Jan. 29 press release.

The complainant was allegedly threatened to pay a sum of money or he would face bodily harm, Peters said.

Hoomana faces charges of kidnapping with a firearm, extortion with a firearm and possession of property obtained by crime.

A bail hearing was held following her arrest and she has been released pending a March 5 appearance in Didsbury provincial court.

Four other suspects in the case have already been arrested and charged. They are Mitchell "Mitch" Lewis Engler, 32, Justin Anglet, 19, Donald Martin, 39, and Jacob Donkin, 19.

Didsbury RCMP detachment commander Staff Sgt. Chad Fournier said police are not seeking any further suspects in the case.

"I want to thank the citizens of Didsbury and Olds for all the assistance we received through the course of this investigation," said Fournier.

"We are confident that all of the people involved in these allegations have been identified."
