More than 50 per cent of the Innisfail-Sylvan Lake riding turned out to the polls last week to cast their vote in the provincial election that ultimately bumped 19 years of PC leadership since the boundary was formed in 1993.

Voter turnout in the Innisfail-Sylvan Lake riding jumped more than 15 per cent when compared to the 2008 provincial elections according to calculations made using the unofficial results from Elections Alberta. In 2008 voter turnout was 40.9 per cent.

An inmate who went missing from the Bowden Institution April 26 was located in Calgary early Saturday evening. Dean Leonard McClelland, 46, was located and arrested “without incident” in Calgary around 6:30 p.m.
