Parkland Foundation has begun to build crucial partnerships in their bid to give Autumn Glen Lodge a multi-million dollar upgrade.

Innisfail town council and town staff said participation in the Red Deer Home Show March 8-10 was a positive for the community. A brief discussion about the town's participation at the event occurred during council's regular meeting on March 11.

Local politicians say while the axe didn't come down as hard as it might have with the arrival of the 2013 Alberta budget, municipal programs will still feel the pinch. Innisfail Mayor Jim Romane said the budget provides some good news for taxpayers.

Penhold council members had a bit of fun discussing an “urban chickens” bylaw March 11. “I think the CAO wants to add a little flavour to the chicken and I'll turn it over to him,” said Mayor Dennis Cooper.

Innisfail town council carried first reading of a bylaw that would permanently close part of 60 Avenue and 42 Street.
