In preparation for costs associated with the development of the new regional water and sewer systems the Town of Innisfail intends to increase the water and sewer rates annually.

On March 14, council passed first reading to make amendments to Bylaw 1507 or the Utilities Bylaw.

The amendments include a rate increase of $0.20 per cubic metre for water and sewer. This brings the water and sewer consumption rates up from $1.42 per cubic metre to $1.62 per cubic metre.

Consideration of second and third readings of the amendment to the bylaw will take place during the March 28 council meeting.
