Innisfail's Hailey Hernon has three wishes for Christmas

Students teacher
Erika Yates, left, a Grade 8 teacher at Innisfail Middle School, with students Grace Gabert and Steve Patko. The pair, along with classmate Hailey Hernon, participated in a Christmas wishes writing assignment.

If I could have three Christmas wishes the first thing I would wish for is everyone in the world to have a nice warm Christmas dinner.

The reason I would wish for this is because many people think that Christmas is about getting gifts. Personally, I enjoy having family over for and just having a bunch of German food, like Spaetdle, potato salad, vinaigrette salad, and a lot of German meats. I like the amazing feeling of having family around you.

My next wish would be that everyone can have a Christmas tree. It is an important part of Christmas traditions. Little kids love watching the Christmas tree getting plugged into the wall, and when the tree lights up their faces light up too.

My third and last wish would be to make sure everyone would have a home to go to on Christmas. It is crucial to have a nice warm, cozy home to go to on Christmas Day.

Hailey Hernon is a Grade 8 student at Innisfail Middle School.
