INNISFAIL – A first-term Innisfail town councillor charged with mischief following an incident in town last summer has agreed to enter into alternative measures in exchange for the charge being withdrawn.

Donnie Hill entered the ex-judicial agreement in Red Deer provincial court on Dec. 15.

The original charge involved damage to a vehicle mirror, he said.

“It was a driver’s side mirror on a vehicle that was knocked off with my shoulder,” Hill told the Albertan shortly after the incident.

In an interview Thursday, Hill said he had to replace the $75 mirror and that was the only condition of the alternative measures.

Under the alternative measures agreement no criminal conviction will be registered against him.

When elected in October 2017, Hill became the youngest ever councillor elected in the municipality at age 26.
