Snow Valley is best known for it’s seasonal ski club located just off the Whitemud Freeway, but also open during the summer months are Snow Valley Aerial Park and Rainbow Valley Campground. Those seeking a year-round venue for family gatherings can celebrate at the Snow Valley Lodge.

The Aerial Park features more than 100 games on a soaring structure that includes a ski bridge, snowboard balance bridge, picnic table, free-fall drop, and more. Climbers choose which games they want to try, and each are graded as green (easy), blue (intermediate), and black (advanced). Climbers are harnessed at all times and trained guides supervise and assist on the towers. Participants must be a minimum of 125 cm (4 ft, 1 in). The adventure lasts up to two hours and includes orientation and safety equipment.

Social distancing is in effect. Sanitization is required at the start of the adventure and as you change levels. Masks and gloves are not mandatory but permitted; staff are masked when they are close to the guests. At this time, only online booking and online waivers are accepted to ensure distancing and the management of how many people are in the facility at one time. The waiver, which is mandatory, is accessible from the main page of the Aerial Park website.

This season, Aerial Park has extended its Twilight deal (9:00 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 6:30 p.m., 7:00 p.m., 7:30 p.m.). Booking a Twilight slot is $25 for the adventure – a $12 savings from the regular admission rate. More ways to save include the Extra Value Card and the Frequent Climber Card.

After your high wire adventures, cool down with the new hard ice cream scoop shack on site, and head over to Rainbow Valley Campground to keep the fun going.

Due to COVID-19, Rainbow Valley has limited some services, but with 39 powered and 29 natural sites open, there is still plenty of space for campers to bring RVs or tents to the great outdoors. At Rainbow Valley, campers have access to a walking trail network that stretches from Whitemud Creek to the North Saskatchewan River. Like Aerial Park, the campground is located in Whitemud Park. Clean washrooms with free showers, a convivence store on site, laundry facilities, a playground, and access to public transportation make enjoying nature easy. Why travel to camp when this natural paradise awaits right in your own back yard?

The Lodge at Snow Valley is the perfect location for the current maximum limits on gatherings indoors. Thanks to The Lodge, locals have a place to host weddings, corporate meetings, celebrations of life, birthdays, and other events. A glass wall provides the natural backdrop of the Rainbow Valley, while dual fieldstone fireplaces add to the ambience indoors. A wraparound deck, air conditioning, free parking, and access to the ground’s outdoor activities are part of each experience. Anyone looking for a mountain-chalet style venue in the heart of city will be thrilled with what The Lodge has to offer.

From high flying adventures in Aerial Park to nature-filled camping at Rainbow Valley, and with The Lodge ready to host your intimate family or work gatherings, you’ll be busy all summer long in Snow Valley. When the weather cools down and the outdoor venues close, the fun is not over because the ski hill opens up.

This summer have a local adventure. Head to Snow Valley where fun for all ages awaits.
