Local band Fall Mercy comes back to Tracks to open for Calgary band Kingdom of Few this Saturday at 9 p.m.

Fall Mercy plays a blend of rock/pop music. On the band's MySpace page, it names the All-American Rejects, OneRepublic, and Faber Drive as influences.

"We are passionate about our music, and to make our live show something to remember," says Mack Sheppard, lead vocalist and guitarist.

"My inspiration as the writer for the band comes from either other music or mostly people, and situations I am in.î

The band was started two and a half years ago when Sheppard was a student at Olds Koinonia Christian School.

"The band started with me and a buddy from school. Then, we wanted a drummer so we found one,î said Sheppard.

While Sheppard is the band's front man, Karl Sawatzky and Luke Sheppard provide additional guitars and backing vocals. Matt Sayer plays bass and Mark Nodwell is the drummer. Tanner Bexon recently became the band's keys/synthesizer player.

Fall Mercy has a four-song demo, which is out on the band's MySpace page.

"We are hoping to hit the studio this spring,î said Sheppard.

Fall Mercy will play another show in Didsbury in February, and is planning shows for Calgary and Edmonton in the next months.
