The move came by way of motion at the recent regularly scheduled council meeting, held by teleconference.

AG Foods will be moving into the new Buy Low facility in Shantz Village this week, at which time the town will assume ownership of the AG Foods building.

The town has already paid $110,000 for the AG Foods building, with an additional $990,000 still owing, which expected to be completed by the end of February.

Administration provided projected costs to the town of the building: security $100/month; insurance $3,000/annual; electricity $300/month; natural gas $350/month; and wastewater and water $100/month.

Administration recommended that the town sell the building when a suitable offer is received. The sale would require council approval.

Councillors passed a motion approving the commencement of the process to sell the AG building.

Details of the proposed price of the building will be brought back to council at an upcoming meeting, members heard.
