Police seize drugs in Didsbury raid

DIDSBURY — A man and a woman are facing numerous charges after police executed a search warrant at a Didsbury residence on Tuesday, seizing drugs including heroin, as well as counterfeit money and identification documents.

Morgan Stephen Winter, 47, of Didsbury, faces three counts of possession of a controlled substance and three counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Sara Joy Hollar, 30, of Red Deer, faces three counts of possession of a controlled substance, three counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, two counts of possession of a prohibited weapon, and failing to comply with a court order.

Police have not said what kind of prohibited weapon was involved.

Drugs police seized are suspected to be 1.3 grams of heroin, six grams of methamphetamine, Fentanyl, 27 grams of cocaine, more than one litre of gamma hydroxybutyrate (GHB), and 42 tabs of buprenorphine.  

Police said in a press release issued today (Feb. 26) that counterfeit bank notes as well as multiple Social Insurance Number and identification cards from various victims were also seized. 

Both accused were remanded in custody following a judicial hearing and ordered to appear in Okotoks provincial court today (Feb. 26).
