DIDSBURY - Town of Didsbury administration is proposing small increases to fees and rates for the Didsbury Out of School Care Association (DOSCA) and the Didsbury Summer Fun program.

“Administration is recommending a small fee increase for both the DOSCA hourly rate and daily (full-day) rate,” Gorner said in a briefing note to council at the March 22 meeting. “For the Summer Fun program, rate increases are recommended for all fees associated with this program (such as) early bird and regular daily, weekly, sibling rates.”

The reason for the proposed increases includes increased rental costs, increased transportation and field trip costs, and increase goods and services, he said.

“An increase of these rates and fees has not been applied for three years,” he said.

DOSCA's hourly child-care fee would increase from $7.50 to $8.50, and the full day fee would increase from $45 to $50.

The Summer Fun weekly early bird fee would increase from $175 to $185, the additional sibling fee increase from $165 to $170, the week fee increase from $185 to $190, the weekly additional sibling fee increases from $175 to $180, the drop-in fee increases from $45 to $50, and the field trip drop-in fee increases from $55 a day to $65 a day.

It is also proposed that the 2022 Didsbury Neighbourhood Place rental rates remain unchanged from 2021.

Councillors may consider the proposed increases at the next council meeting.
