DIDSBURY — The Didsbury Fire Department has an impressive addition to its firefighting fleet with the arrival of a new command pumper.

The 2019 Rosenbauer Commander TME (Top Mount Enclosed) Pumper is equipped with a 6,000-litre per minute pump, a 1,500-gallon water tank and a 50-gallon foam tank with a FoamPro Class A/B foam injection system.

The vehicle was purchased from Rocky Mountain Phoenix out of Red Deer and brought to Didsbury last week.

The $775,000 vehicle was jointed funded 50/50 by the Town of Didsbury and Mountain View County.

Although the vehicle is not yet in service, it should be soon.

“We expect it to be fully in service in the next week or two, after we get all of our operators trained on its operation,” said Sarah Eichorst, with the Town of Didsbury.
