Mountain View Colts play High River Flyers tonight

DIDSBURY – The Mountain View Colts are back in action tonight in High River against the Flyers and at home on Saturday against the Coaldale Copperheads.

The Mountain View Colts won one and lost one last weekend, with the Heritage Junior B Hockey League team now two points behind first place Airdrie.

Forward Steven Bell had five points, including three goals, in the two weekend games.

The Didsbury-based Colts took on the Three Hills Thrashers at the Didsbury Memorial Complex on Friday, coming away with a 10-6 win.

They got goals from Steven Bell (assists from Paton Rothenbusch and Trey Stovin), Jordan Saunders (assists Treydon Brien and Haiden Parks), Brien (assist Saunders), Carter Hewitt (assists Nate McNeely and Harley Smith), Logan Richards (assists Corson Waiting and Carter Layden), Aiden Saunders (unassisted), Aiden Saunders (assists Carter Hewitt and Corbin Rae), Simon Leischner (assists Bell and Rothenbusch), Jordan Saunders (assists Brien and Parks), and Bell (assist Rothenbusch).

Colts netminder Chance Griffith stopped 40 out of 46 shots for the win.

The Colts then travelled to Red Deer last Saturday night to take on the Vipers, coming up short in a 5-3 loss.

The Colts got goals from Bell (assist McNeely), McNeely (assists Richards and Rae) and McNeely (assists Bell and Hayden Sotheran).

Colts netminder Shayne Price stopped 40 out of 45 shots.

Bell leads the Colts with 24 points so far this season, six points ahead of captain Paton Rothenbusch.
