Mountain View Colts off to good playoff start with win over Thrashers

Three-game quarter final series continues Saturday in Three Hills

DIDSBURY - The Mountain View Colts are off to a good start in the north division quarter finals with a convincing 5-2 win over Three Hills on Wednesday.

Played at the Didsbury Memorial Complex before a large and boisterous crowd, the first game in the three-game series saw the Colts lead from start to finish.

The Colts got goals from Jay Heistad (assist Aidan Saunders), Jordan Saunders (assists Heistad and Carter Layden), captain Paton Rothenbusch, Hayden Sotheran (assist Trey Stovin), Southeran (assist Trey Stovin and Patron Rothenbusch).

Colts netminder Chance Griffith got the win, stopping 46 of 48 shots sent his way.

Game 2 in the series goes Saturday in Three Hills. If the Colts win that game the team moves on to the semi-finals; if the Thrashers win the final game in the series goes Sunday in Didsbury, with puck drop scheduled for 7:45 p.m.
