Mountain View Colts face off against Rocky, Red Deer this weekend

Didsbury-based team is currently in fourth place in the north division with 40 points

DIDSBURY - Coming off a 5-4 overtime shoot-out win against the Sylvan Lake Wranglers last weekend, the Mountain View Colts are scheduled to face off against the Rams in Rocky Mountain House on Friday, followed by a match-up against the Vipers in Red Deer on Saturday.

During the Jan. 22 game in Sylvan Lake, the Heritage Junior B Hockey League Colts got goals from Wyatt Gelinas (assists Lucas Mulholland and Jay Heistad), Logan Richards (assists Nate McNeely and Ryley Lodermeier), Heistad (assists Mulholland and Gelinas), Laine Rothenbusch (assists Carter Layden and Lodermeier). Layden got the game winner in the overtime shootout.

Colts netminder Chance Griffith stopped 34 of 38 shots for the win.

The Colts are currently in fourth place in the north division with 40 points, 12 behind front-runner Cochrane and five behind Sylvan Lake and Red Deer. Colts forward Austin Corsiatto continues to lead the team in scoring, with 48 points.

Playoffs start the week of Feb. 7, says coach Gord Olsen.
