Cremona-Water Valley & District Chamber of Commerce holds business awards ceremony at Neilon’s Tavern

CREMONA - The Cremona-Water Valley & District Chamber of Commerce has recognized some of its outstanding business community members through the presentation of the 2022 Small Business Awards.

The awards were presented during a ceremony at Neilon’s Tavern in Cremona on Thursday.

The Business of the Year award went to the Water Valley Saloon for “providing a high level of customer and employee satisfaction and best reflects the outstanding spirit and success of the Cremona-Water Valley area”, chamber officials said.

Neilon’s Tavern took silver and KC Foods took bronze in the category.

The Spirit Award went to the Heritage Centre Cremona for "contributing significantly to community spirit through giving back to our community, donations of time, effort, in-kind contributions and donation.”

Iron Mountain Diesel took silver and Dawn Lashmar CIR Realty & Standoff Publications took bronze in the category.

The Shines Award went to the Blue & Bairn Collective - Vintage General Store for “making the effort to maintain and beautify your store front/building/lot.”

The Water Valley Community Association & Mountain View Carwash and Storage took silver in the category.

Dawn Lashmar, Cremona-Water Valley & District Chamber of Commerce president, said she was very pleased with the awards process this year, the first time the chamber has held the event.

“We had 57 people vote and we had a good turnout for our awards,” she told the Albertan. “We are really trying to build up the chamber and we have great business community.”

Popular chamber-sponsored events include the Farmers Market in Cremona and the annual car show, she noted.
