CARSTAIRS - A Carstairs man is facing several charges after police raided a residence in town and another rural residence in Rocky View County last week.

The raids took place on Feb. 11 and involved the Airdrie RCMP Crime Reduction Unit, as well as Didsbury RCMP officers and the RCMP’s Emergency Response Team.

As a result of two search warrants, officers seized 174 grams of fentanyl, a stolen utility trailer and a stolen licence plate, said RCMP Cpl. Tammy Keibel in a press release issued today, Feb. 15.

Aaron Bertrand, 36, of Carstairs, has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

Bertrand has been released following a judicial hearing and is scheduled to be in Didsbury provincial court on Feb. 28.

“As these matters are before the courts, no further details can be provided,” she said.
