CARSTAIRS - The Mountain View Quilters of Carstairs (MVQC) made "comfort" quilts which were recently ready for distribution to local charitable organizations.

The quilts are being donated to the Lions Christmas Hampers, local Schools, Mountain View Emergency Shelter Society, Victims' Services, Ronald McDonald House, Pregnancy Centre, Quilts of Valor and Mountain View Hope for Kids.

Any fabrics not suitable for such quilts are used to make dog/cat beds for the local animal shelter.

This year, the MVQC was fortunate to receive a grant from the Carstairs Family and Community Support Services plus a monetary donation from the Lions Club to help offset costs. Club members meet every Monday at the Half Century and, to date, have been donating quilts for five years.
