SUNDRE — People who are so inclined have an opportunity to travel back in time, so to speak.
Photographer Veronica Flinn-Pana, who recently moved to Sundre, partnered up her business, Timeless Antique Photos, with the Sundre & District Museum to provide an opportunity for people to pose in pioneer period costumes for black and white photos at the historical village.
The museum reopened earlier in June following the pandemic lockdown.
"The community is looking for things to do and we have the ability to provide a service and experience," said Jaime Marr, the museum's executive director.
"So, we've been working hard to update and modify our cleaning process and some of the exhibit spaces to ensure they are safe and accessible, referencing many of the new museum standards and AHS (Alberta Health Services) recommendations," said Marr.
Sessions must be booked by phoning either the museum at 403-638-3233 during regular hours, or by contacting Flinn-Pana at 250-784-3857.
"Our volunteers will be doing call backs and scheduling all the tours. It will be an interesting transition, but this pandemic has changed the way museums in Alberta — and across the world — function. It will have an ever-lasting effect, of which our museum will not be immune," said Marr.
