SUNDRE - The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #223 recently presented a $10,000 cheque to the Sundre Hospital Futures Committee for its heart monitoring equipment fundraising effort.

The committee has committed to raise $100,000 to enhance cardiac care at the Myron Thompson Health Centre.

The role of the Sundre Hospital Futures Committee is to raise funds and enhance health services for residents of Sundre and surrounding areas, and to raise awareness in the community about local health-care needs.

The donated funds were raised through the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #223's poppy fund.

From the last Friday in October to November 11, the Royal Canadian Legion accepts donations at Legion tables and poppy boxes.
