SUNDRE – A group of Grade 5 students has recently had the opportunity to be introduced to curling courtesy of a coordinated effort between River Valley School and the Sundre Curling Club.

The weekly Ready to Rock program was facilitated by several members of the club who volunteered to instruct students, who among other skills practised the delicate balancing act involved in accurately throwing a rock.

So many students are involved that the club had to split them up into two groups with each one getting an hour on the ice.

A group of Grade 7s will also get a chance to try the program once the first batch wraps up, with the last classes ending on March 9.
