Let me get this straight, four million Kuwaitis are of more value than 44 million Ukrainians? At least that’s how it appears as there was no hesitation by the western countries to rush in and save Kuwait from Iraqi invasion but are not doing the same when Russia invades the Ukraine.
It would thus appear that one Kuwaiti is worth more than 11 Ukrainians to the western nations. Why? Because the Kuwaitis were sitting on huge oil reserves? Well the Ukraine has oil reserves as well.
Did U.S.A. president Bush, Sr. have more courage and sense of doing right than the current president Biden? Or is it the threat by Putin to use nuclear weaponry that is preventing him and other NATO leaders doing what’s right?
Threatening the use of nuclear weaponry is unacceptable. I was born during the Second World War and sure don’t want to see World War III in my lifetime. History has shown over and over that war is not the best answer. However, what ever is needed must be considered.
Remove Russia from SWIFT if that will hurt them enough to do a rethink, for fascism and bullying resulting in the loss of innocent lives, such as Putin is practicing, is wrong and should be stopped.
However, sanctions aren’t likely going to enough, for the most part they hurt the wrong people.
So is it really all about money, not what’s the right thing to do to stop unnecessary suffering of innocent people. It’s not like we weren’t warned ahead of time that this was going to happen.
The so-called diplomatic meetings between Putin and Biden were just check outs by Putin to be sure that Biden was a weak leader and wouldn’t fight back when Putin invaded the Ukraine.
How can we claim to be a caring democratic people if we’re willing to stand by and see innocent people die unnecessarily just to support a mad man’s ego driven greed for power?
How many innocents, like school children, must perish to satisfy one man’s inappropriate power driven ego? When is enough enough?
If the U.S.A. can put a successful drone hit on the mad leader of Al-Qaeda, then why not consider doing the same for the mad leader of Russia?
What’s happened to good strong democratic leadership? Where are leaders like Churchill or Kennedy when we need them?
Of course Canada has a proven coward as a prime minister – he wouldn’t even stand up to some friendly protesting truckers, so don’t expect any help from us, Ukrainians. Sorry, my sincere apologies.
Just a caring Canadian wishing we could do more to help the Ukrainians and make this a better safer world for all people.
