Olds tavern temporarily closes due to staff member's COVID-19 diagnosis

OLDS - The Olds Hotel's Blue Yak tavern is expected to be open regular hours again next week after a staff member tested positive for COVID-19.

Management posted a message to customers on social media today (Oct. 15).

According to the statement, the Blue Yak staff member worked Friday, Oct. 9 from 6 p.m. to 3 a.m. and Sunday, Oct. 11 from 5 – 10 p.m.

“We immediately consulted with Alberta Health and completed a clean and sanitation protocol,” the statement reads.

The tavern is expected to be open regular hours as of Monday, Oct. 19.

“All staff that will be working going forward have recently tested negative or had no direct contact with the positive case,” the statement reads.

It concludes with a thank you to customers for their continued support and a plea to stay home if they have any symptoms of COVID-19 as well as to stay safe.
