Olds RCMP seek witnesses to collision involving 11-year-old child

OLDS — RCMP are continuing to investigate the cause of a collision involving an SUV and an 11-year old child that occurred yesterday morning.

They’re asking for anyone who may have witnessed that collision to contact them.

The collision occurred at the intersection of Vista Road at Vera Close. Police and ambulance personnel were called to the scene at 8:11 a.m. on April 12.

"RCMP attended and determined the child was struck by the SUV while crossing the crosswalk to try to catch a school bus,” Cpl. Courtney Harding wrote in a news release.

“The child was subsequently transported to Olds hospital by EMS with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the SUV reported no injuries.”
