Lockdown at Bowden Insitution lifted

A lockdown at the Bowden Institution, which lasted more than a week, is over after officials undertook an “exceptional search” of inmates and cells.

Reports say the lockdown, which began on Dec. 13 was instituted after a correctional officer conducting a search for drugs was allegedly exposed to an opiod and administered naloxone, a substance often used to counteract opiod overdoses.
