County man faces 15 charges in relation to armed robbery in Langdon

A Mountain View County man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery in Langdon.

At approximately 10:30 a.m. on Jan. 2, Strathmore RCMP say four male suspects armed with a shotgun, handgun and a hammer committed an armed robbery of a Langdon business that resulted in over $5,000 being stolen.

The suspects fled in a vehicle.  

Police were called around 11 a.m.

Strathmore RCMP’s investigation resulted in the arrest of Kristopher Ronald Neergaard, 49, of Mountain View County.

Strathmore RCMP say they are still trying to identify the other suspects involved in this incident and locate the suspect vehicle involved.

Neergaard is facing 15 charges including:

• robbery with a firearm

• disguised with intent

• two counts of unlawful confinement

• two counts of assault with a weapon

• possession of a weapon dangerous to the public

• two counts of pointing a firearm

• use of a firearm while committing an offence

• unauthorized possession of firearm

• theft over $5,000

• possession of stolen property of a value over $5,000

• two counts of failing to comply with release order
 

Police said Neergaard was remanded in custody following a judicial hearing and is scheduled to appear in Siksika provincial court on Jan. 16.
