OLDS — Olds Grizzlys defenceman Tristan Bauming has been named an RBC AJHL Community Ambassador for the current season.

The Community Ambassador program is a partnership between the AJHL and The Royal Bank of Canada (RBC).

Under the program, each team in the 16-team league nominates a player in recognition of their exemplary commitment to the community.

At the end of the season, one nominee in both the Viterra AJHL North and South Division will be chosen to receive a $1,000 scholarship.

An AJHL news release described players nominated as “keen to give back through volunteerism and inspire their team members to contribute to their community in meaningful ways.”

Neither Bauming nor Grizzlys head coach and general manager Scott Attkinson could be reached for comment by press time.
