Olds College Broncos men's volleyball season now over

The Olds College Broncos and Briercrest Clippers went two different directions as a result of Saturday’s match in the ACAC Men’s Volleyball Championships.

OLDS — A day after their title defence came to an end, the Briercrest College Clippers bounced back to beat the Olds College Broncos in four sets (25-19, 20-25, 25-18, 25-15) during the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) at the Ralph Klein Centre in Olds on Saturday.

With that victory, the Broncos' season is now complete.

The Clippers went on to face the Lethbridge College Kodiaks for fifth place.

For the host Broncos, ACAC South All-Conference outside Matheus Franca led the way with 13 points (nine kills, four blocks) and 10 digs, while Aidyn Phillips (seven kills, one ace, one block) and Strahinja Lazarevic (four kills, five blocks) each had nine points; Lazarevic also added three digs on the night.

For the Clippers, Karym Coleman provided yet another example of the brilliance that's netted him three ACAC South Player of the Year awards as he led the team with a game-high 19 kills.

Jackson Anderson did damage all over the court in a 16-point effort (12 kills, three blocks, one ace), as did ACAC South All-Conference middle Adam Revet with 13 points (nine kills, three blocks, one ace).

Jeremy Martens facilitated the Briercrest offence efficiently, as the ACAC South All-Conference setter racked up 44 assists to go with a five-point performance.
