SUNDRE - Peak Theatre Players recently wrapped up six packed performances of Sylvia, a play written by A.R. Gurney, at the Sundre Arts Centre.
The comedic tearjerker is a heart-warming tale about the impact a somewhat rambunctious yet lovable adopted canine has on an empty-nest couple living in the big city.
Soul searching hilarity ensues when husband Greg, played by Neil Embleton, spontaneously springs on his wife Kate, portrayed by Veronica Embleton, a lost dog called Sylvia, entertainingly brought to life by Jane Cummins, that he felt an immediate connection with after a random encounter at the park.
But the rest of the story is not all a stroll in the park, as the unexpected addition in the relationship puts a strain on their marriage as they come to terms with a radically different daily routine, and whether to keep their new canine companion.
