Students create walker plates

CARSTAIRS - Seniors Week 2019, which ran June 2 - 8, saw a number of great local events, including a joint project between Hugh Sutherland School art club students and Chinook Winds Lodge in Carstairs.

The project saw the students designing and making licence plate-style artwork for residents of the lodge to hang on their walkers.

Students Kairi Helset and Aries Beaucage each found the project enjoyable and interesting.

"I really like art," said Helset. "I found this art program after school and joined that. It's my second year."

Beaucage added: "The project was introduced to us by our teacher."

On June 3 the students visited the lodge where they handed out their handmade walker artwork.

"I think it was pretty cool helping out seniors and making them feel happy," said Helset.
