DIDSBURY - A crowd gathered near Didsbury's historic train station was treated to a free outdoor concert Friday as the CPKC Holiday Train made a stop in town.

Anyway Gang featuring Sam Roberts (Sam Roberts Band), Dave Monks (Tokyo Police Club), Menno Versteeg (Hollerado), and Chris Murphy (Sloan) played for about 45 minutes on a stage unfolded from the Holiday Train.

The Holiday Train is making a North American tour raising money, food and awareness for the important work that food banks do in the communities it stops.

The Dec. 8 event centred around fundraising for the Mountain View Food Bank.

Among those addressing the crowd were Olds-Didsbury-Three Hills MLA Nathan Cooper and Town of Didsbury Mayor Rhonda Hunter.

Inside the Didsbury train station, attendees were treated to Didsbury & District Chamber of Commerce's Christmas Market which also extended into Saturday.
