Canaday elected to Cremona village council

CREMONA — Joseph Francis Canaday has been elected to Cremona village council, according to unofficial results.

Canaday garnered 38 votes in the June 15 byelection, defeating Heather Hutton, who received 35 votes, and Robert Foxwell Reid, who also garnered 35 votes.

The byelection was held to replace former councillor Bonnie Scribner, who in March resigned from her council position for family reasons.

The results of the June 15 vote will be official at noon on June 19, said returning officer Chris Atchison.

Canaday could not immediately be reached for comment Thursday morning.
