Cramming the cruiser in Carstairs for the food bank

CARSTAIRS - Westview Co-op in Carstairs was the location on Jan. 18 for the Cram the Cruiser event that saw residents donating food to fill an RCMP cruiser in support of the Mountain View Food Bank.

In total, 2,680 pounds was donated at the Carstairs location, which is equivilent to a value of $6,700.

The week before, on Jan. 11, at Olds Co-op a total of 2,741 pounds of food, worth a total of $6,850, was raised.

"We were able to cram the RCMP cruiser, our jeep and an additional trunk full of food," said Chelsea Edwards, marketing specialist for Westview Co-op.
