Stettler RCMP searching for missing Airdrie teenager in Buffalo Lake

An Airdrie teenager is believed to have drowned in Buffalo Lake on Aug. 29, according to statements from Stettler RCMP. 

The detachment stated they received a report of a possible drowning at the Central Alberta lake near the Ol' MacDonalds Resort that day. Emergency crews involving Stettler firefighters, STARS air ambulance, and an RCMP drone responded to the report, but were unable to locate the victim, who was believed to still be in the water.

The next day, Stettler RCMP followed up by stating they will continue the search for missing Airdrie resident 17-year-old Ajay Purba, with the assistance of support units and other agencies

"Additional updates will be provided when available," the release stated.
