Alberta man arrested in Saskatchewan and charged with trafficking cocaine

St. Albert RCMP has charged former St. Albert resident Ryan Kovacs, 27, with trafficking cocaine.

On Oct. 19, RCMP searched Kovacs’s Edmonton residence as well as his vehicle and discovered multiple firearms, 151.27 grams of what they believe is cocaine, 43.59 grams they believe to be MDMA and 143 tablets of what they believe is Oxycodone, according to an RCMP press release.

Through the course of the investigation, RCMP determined that many of the drug offences took place in St. Albert, the release says.

RCMP began investigating Kovacs in the spring. They found him and arrested him in Saskatchewan.

In addition to several drug-trafficking charges, RCMP have laid a number of firearms-related charges against Kovacs.

He will appear at the Alberta Court of Justice in St. Albert on Monday Nov. 6.
