CREMONA — Several members of the village's current council have yet to decide whether to run again in 2021, while others have decided to seek new terms.

There are four councillors and one mayor on the village council.

Second-term mayor Tim Hagen says he plans to decide within the next month whether he will run for another term.

Second-term councillor Joseph Shi says he will be seeking another term in October.

“My main focus would be keeping tax and fees low, closely watching over administration and other public spending, attracting new businesses to the village,” said Shi.

“Another of my goals is to try to get better medical services to the area. I know this is a tough one, but I will keep on trying.”

Second-term councillor Sonia Temple also plans to seek another term. She says promoting business and population growth will be her priorities if she’s reelected.

“I want to see Cremona move forward,” she said. “I want to see the community continue to grow.”

Coun. Bonnie Scribner says she hasn’t yet decided whether to seek another term.

Coun. Bob Reid did not immediately return a call seeking comment.

Candidates for the Oct. 18, 2021 municipal election must have nomination papers filed by Sept. 20.
