OLDS — An incident in which a vehicle drove into an Olds commercial building with a residence in it Monday night remains under investigation, Olds Fire Department Chief Justin Andrew says.

Olds Firefighters were called to Cowboy & Co. at 5111 48th St. at 5:11 p.m. Monday, April 29.

"A passenger car drove into the building," Andrew said in a prepared statement.

“Olds Fire, along with RCMP and EMS (ambulance crews) responded, to find that a single occupant of the residence was trapped in the debris of the accident.

“Crews worked to remove the vehicle quickly and accessed the patient, who was treated by EMS.”

Andrew says the building suffered some structural damage and a suite will have to be repaired before tenants can live in it again.
